About the Area

The Apostolic Christian Church of Athens, Alabama is settled in the heart of the “Bible Belt” along with 164 other different churches. On any given Sunday, you will see hundreds of people dressed in their “Sunday best”. Athens is in a very friendly and welcoming town of about 24,000 people that is considered part of the Huntsville Metropolitan Area. Home to the US Space and Rocket Center and the Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, or “Rocket City,” is currently the fastest growing tech town in America, creating many engineering jobs that draw people to the area. The climate in Alabama is very warm for most of the year, allowing the folks here plenty of time to enjoy being outdoors. We are just a few minutes away from the Tennessee river, Monte Sano, and there are many local parks and historic buildings to explore.
